Why do we always put things off for another day? The answer, partly, is that we are too busy enjoying life or dealing with its demands that important things often fall to the wayside and are soon to be forgotten. It’s the same with insurance really. No one wants to think about things going wrong, even if it is only hypothetical. And when you are young ” it’ll never happen to me” is the prevailing attitude, which is fair enough.
It’s also fair to say that the younger you are, the more care free you are, and the older you are, the wiser. Although a sweeping generalisation, it is true that as we get older our priorities change and we begin to see things in a different light, with greater depth, and shade.
So what makes us more cautious as we get older? Lots of experience? Yes. A little bit of fear? Maybe. Put simply, as we mature we develop a sense of responsibility that compels us into doing the right thing for ourselves and our loved ones.
It’s Good To Talk About Insurance
So the questions should really be; ‘how does financial protection benefit my family and I?’ Understanding the benefits and disadvantages of protection and the potential consequences of no cover may help put things into perspective.
Protection should always be affordable and considered a necessity. Some cover is often better than no cover at all. So it is important to find out where you stand.
